Which bin goes out next?

I designed and built Tonnentag to make local bin collection dates easy to look up, on the web or through an agent.

Keeping the human side simple

Tonnentag answers a deliberately small question: which bin is collected next, and when does it need to go out?

People can enter a postcode and, where necessary, choose their town or street. The site then reduces the underlying collection schedule to the next useful answer.

It currently covers the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis in Germany using data from the local waste authority.

Giving agents the same information

The same collection data is also exposed in a form that software agents can use directly.

Each supported area has structured JSON endpoints for the next collection and the full schedule, while a central llms.txt file explains how to find the correct area, choose the right endpoint and handle missing or stale data.

The human interface and the agent interface use the same underlying information rather than maintaining two separate versions of the service.

## Wann Tonnentag verwenden

- path: menschliche Ansicht
- nextJson: nächste Leerung als kompaktes JSON
- json: vollständiger Jahresplan als JSON

Using the assistant you already have

Tonnentag doesn't need its own reminder system.

Each collection page includes a prompt that can be copied into an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude. The prompt points the agent to the correct schedule and asks it to check for collections due the following day.

The website remains the source of the schedule, while the reminder can live in a tool the person already uses.
